At Explorati we needed an environment in which to demonstrate our multiplayer improvisational storytelling system. I had one cinematic modeler (Renee Dunlop) working for me. I hired a texture artist, (Arlin Robins) and contracted for some characters to be built (NewPencil). Additional textures were built by other members of the Explorati team (Lori Cole and Carolly Hauksdottir).

We used the Unreal Warfare game engine and did the modeling in Maya. I assembled the world, built a 3-layer skybox, created and positioned sounds and music, and made the water flow and froth. I needed to rebuild many of the components that Renee created (several times) due to Unreal's devolving BSP system. I also constructed the House of Blues from scratch (lower two images).

I also wrote a simple Unreal scene exporter in MEL to speed up the layout process (Epic's exporter only did one object at a time), and I did a significant quantity of game-object scripting.
